Golf Swing Problems? How I Improved My Golf Swing Instantly.

It seems so straightforward now, but at the time, I just did not think of it. I had been invited by a friend to his golf club to give the sport a swing – no pun intended! – and I went with true enthusiasm.

I was incredibly impressed at the amount of people playing golf, the club, the atmosphere, the crowd, the whole nine yards, my mouth dropped open all the way, going from one nice surprise to the other.

When it finally came to hitting the green and starting a game, I mean, grabbing a golf club and try to get the ball to the hole on the green in as few shots as possible, I was in for a small surprise. My friend is a doctor, and it never occurred to him why, but try as I might, I was not even able to hit the ball.

I must have swung the club nine hundred times, my shoulders hurt like never before and I was exasperated with frustration, but unless I really moved down quite the distance, literally bending through my knees, I could not make contact with the ball.

I tried to laugh the problem away, as it was the first time that I had ever played, but in the back of my mind, I was worried. My ego had received quite the blow, and I was not happy with myself.

Two nights later at three in the morning I woke up with the answer. There must be something wrong with my eyes! I was so excited I wrote a postit to myself so as not to forget to make an appointment with the eye specialist.

Indeed, he diagnosed a problem with the way my eyes interpreted depth. No wonder I could not manage to correct the club so it would make contact with the ball, my eyesight was not “calibrated” the way it should!

When I received my prescription glasses, I set out to the golf club the very same day and went for the practise field. The improvement was spectacular, as now, every time I tried, the golf club actually made contact with the ball.

I could start actually to concentrate on technique and improve other areas of my game, which I enjoy more and more. Is your golf handicap going up? Make sure your eyesight is still up to par, you would be amazed at the results.
